It’s been a while, so it’s probably a good time for a little overview of AL Medical Aesthetics and Wellness. Or for our new followers, an introduction. Hi! We have so many new patients now and so much has changed and grown since the early days. What has not changed is the absolute dedication to every client, total zealousness for doing things right, and a determination to keep learning and developing. This can only be a good thing for you, our patients.

In a nutshell, for those who don’t yet know us, AL Medical Aesthetics and Wellness is a CQC-registered, boutique-but-professional clinic nestled discreetly within a normal, residential property. Inside is a high-end yet welcoming clinical environment. We began life as Aspect of Beauty Medical Aesthetics & Skin. Our commitment to wellness meant the business evolved, and so A L Medical Aesthetics & Wellness was born in 2020.

- Mole Screening in partnership with Map My Mole, who strive to increase and develop knowledge and technology in Cancer Screening.
- Medical Weight Loss Services to treat obesity and address the root causes – such as health inequalities, genetic influences and social factors.

Aesthetics – Looking Good is Feeling Good
That’s not to say that aesthetics has taken a back seat, not at all. Looking your best – not looking ‘done’ – is a huge part of feeling your best. Looking well and feeling confident has an enormous impact on self-esteem and mental wellness. A L Medical Aesthetics & Wellness is run by Amy Lamb, a registered nurse with well over 20 years of experience. Amy is a nurse prescriber who has worked in the field of Medical Aesthetics since 2012. Along with CQC registration Amy is also a registered practitioner with Save Face – the kite mark and benchmark for patient safety. Recently, to meet patient demand, Lyndsay joined Amy. Lyndsay is a specialist in all things skin, after a lifetime of research. She loves to help her patients improve their skin. All our treatments are provided with the highest quality products following an extensive holistic assessment of physical, medical and psychosocial elements.
Wellness Done Well
How do we manage to offer this first-class, high-end and personal service when there are only two of us? That’s a good question. If you, too, run a small business, you’ll know the power of outsourcing. You love and aim to be the best at what you do. Don’t waste your valuable time doing the stuff that’s just not you. Concentrate on your clients – or patients, in our case, and choose suppliers and providers who love doing what they do. Automate what you can. This way, your working hours are all about your clients. Automated booking systems are invaluable – especially the reminder facility, for far fewer missed appointments. Bonus if they also deal with payment which avoids those wasted minutes between patients. Once you’re well established a full CRM system can be a sound investment.
Everyone outsources accounts and bookkeeping, right? Or, at the very least has a helping hand from Xero or QuickBooks. Marketing can be another area that looks fun, and many people mistakenly think it is easy. Yes, anyone can set up a Facebook or Insta page. No, not anyone can run one well! Likewise, a professional website (much like injectables, DON’T do it yourself) and the content thereon – blogs included. Your website is your shopfront. It HAS to be slick, fast, aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. The content must be well-written and engaging for your readers as well as optimised for Google and friends. Trust the professionals. Again, as with Aesthetic and Wellness treatments, this is NOT an area to cut corners or save pennies. As the saying goes, if you think it’s expensive to hire an expert, you’ll be horrified by what it costs when you use an amateur…
