Non Surgical Rhinoplasty

Non-surgical rhinoplasty refers to a 'nose job' performed using non-surgical methods such as dermal filler and sometimes Botox to enhance the nose's shape. It can be a good alternative to surgery and is typically more affordable.

What is a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a procedure performed by a medical practitioner using dermal filler and Botox to modify the nose's shape. Dermal filler is used to replace or enhance bone structure to straighten any lumps or bumps in the nose. Botox may be used to lift the nasal tip or create a slimming effect.

Can Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Make Your Nose Smaller?

The simple answer is no. Since we're using filler, we can only build upon the nose's structure; we cannot reduce its size. However, sometimes the issue isn't size but rather 'profile balancing,' where we adjust areas of the face to improve symmetry or enhance features for better facial harmonisation. These adjustments can create the illusion of a smaller nose.

We can sometimes help slim the nose using Botox, which relaxes specific muscles around the nose.

What Can Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Achieve?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty enhances the nose's appearance but cannot reduce its size. It can help with:

• Smoothing lumps and bumps

• Straightening the nose bridge

• Lifting the nasal tip

• Reshaping the tip

• Creating a slimmer appearance

• Adding volume where needed

• Balancing facial profile

How Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty Works

Dermal fillers function by replacing or mimicking bone or tissue, depending on the type used. Most commonly, we use a firm filler in the nose to add structure to areas requiring straightening or smoothing. Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that provides hydration. This substance is synthesised in laboratories and modified to resist breakdown by the body's natural enzymes.

Treating the nose with Botox

In addition to dermal filler, we often incorporate Botox treatments. Botox works by relaxing specific muscles, which can reduce wrinkles and help slim the nose by relaxing muscles that cause 'bunching.'

The main areas we treat with Botox include:

Nasoglabellar Lines (Bunny Lines)

When you scrunch your nose, the lines that appear at the top and sides are commonly called 'bunny lines.' These lines can become more permanent over time due to repeated muscle contraction during facial expressions. The bunching in this area can make the nose appear wider, so relaxing these muscles helps smooth and slim the nose.

Nasal Tip Ptosis (Drooping Tip)

A drooping nasal tip is a common concern that can worsen over time due to facial muscle movement and gravity. The muscle used for talking and smiling attaches to the bottom of the nose and can pull the tip downward, causing the 'droop.' By relaxing the muscles around the nose's base, we can reduce this downward pull.

Nasal Flare (Flared Nostrils)

Involuntary nostril flaring can, over time, make nostrils appear consistently wider. Flaring of the nostrils can increase the nose's apparent width. Injecting Botox around this area helps relax the muscles, reduce flaring, and create a slimmer appearance.
